Dr Tareq Abdel Alim is a postdoctoral researcher at the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam (BIGR), Department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, Erasmus MC. His work covers 3D imaging and computational shape analysis, from the study of congenital craniofacial dysmorphologies in children to 3D photogrammetry for quantifying surgical outcomes, and increasingly sustainable and equitable medical imaging for global health. He received his PhD cum laude from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2024 with the dissertation From Mesh to Meaning: Computational analysis of craniofacial dysmorphologies and surgical interventions.
He was selected as a DAAD AInet Fellow in the May 2026 cohort (AI in Neuroscience) and was hosted by the lab in Bonn in 2026.
