دور الذكاء الاصطناعي في التغليف البلاستيكي على سلامة الأغذية وجودتها (“The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Plastic Packaging for Food Safety and Quality”) is a popular-science article in Arabic by Nada El Darra (Nutrition and Food Regulation, Beirut Arab University, Lebanon) and Shadi Albarqouni (Artificial Intelligence and Computational Medical Imaging, University of Bonn, Germany).

It appeared in the dossier of issue 73 (year 18, October–December 2023) of Al-Faisal Scientific Magazine (مجلة الفيصل العلمية), devoted to plastics, from page 66. The article explains smart plastic packaging, which embeds AI in the design and production of packaging through sensors and tracking systems, and how deep learning and imaging help with quality control and with detecting microplastics in food.
