Best Presentation Award for MRIQT at the 3rd Arab Science Symposium in Germany (ASSG 2026)
ASSG 2026 – 3rd Arab Science Symposium in Germany, German-Syrian Research Foundation (DSFG) ↗

On the second day of the 3rd Arab Science Symposium in Germany (ASSG 2026), held on 9–10 October 2026 at the University of Cologne, Malek Al Abed received the Best Presentation Award for his talk Physics-Guided Diffusion for Neonatal Ultra-Low-Field MRI Enhancement. He presented in Track B, “Die Zukunft gestalten: Intelligenz, Konnektivität und Automatisierung” (telecommunication, electronics and robotics), in the same session as my invited lecture.
The talk introduced MRIQT, a physics-aware 3D diffusion model that brings portable 0.064 T neonatal MRI towards high-field quality, and showed the end-to-end workflow: scan and upload at the bedside, quality enhancement, then segmentation and findings. The method is described in our ISBI 2026 paper MRIQT: Physics-Aware Diffusion Model for Image Quality Transfer in Neonatal Ultra-Low-Field MRI, together with Sebiha Demir, Anne Groteklaes, Elodie Germani, Shahrooz Faghihroohi and Hemmen Sabir, with a clinical evaluation in the Zeitschrift für Geburtshilfe und Neonatologie.
Congratulations, Malek!
