Invited lecture on interpretable machine learning, federated learning and robust AI for medical imaging and global health equity, and a panel discussion with Bundestag MP Lamya Kaddor, at ASSG 2026, University of Cologne.

On 10 October 2026 I gave an invited lecture at the 3rd Arab Science Symposium in Germany (ASSG 2026), held on 9–10 October 2026 at the University of Cologne, organised by the German-Syrian Research Foundation (DSFG). The lecture (13:30–15:30) addressed interpretable machine learning, federated learning and robust AI models for medical imaging and global healthcare equity, including how AI can pre-filter medical images so that radiologists only assess diagnostically usable scans. I also joined a panel discussion alongside Lamya Kaddor, Member of the German Bundestag.

ASSG brings together Arab researchers in Germany across disciplines; its first edition took place in Hannover in 2024, and the next one is planned for Berlin in 2027.
