Two days in Bonn with Palestinian DAAD and KAAD alumni on the academic reconstruction of Gaza. I moderated the workshop on the higher-education sector, with Prof. Dr. Mohammed Arafa joining online, and sat on the panel.

From the workshop: practical teaching is one of the most pressing needs, as laboratories are destroyed and students stall after the theory; UNESCO’s federated Gaza Virtual Campus could be extended to practical teaching, co-supervision and remote internships. From the panel: design for brain circulation, not retention — fund study inside Gaza and create real roles for academics abroad. Support should strengthen Gaza’s universities as institutions, and trilateral cooperation (Gaza–Egypt–Germany) makes that easier.
