Graduated with a PhD in Computer Science, summa cum laude, from the Technical University of Munich for my dissertation “Machine Learning for Biomedical Applications: From Crowdsourcing to Deep Learning”, supervised by Nassir Navab.

In 2017 I graduated with a PhD in Computer Science, summa cum laude, from the Technical University of Munich. My dissertation, Machine Learning for Biomedical Applications: From Crowdsourcing to Deep Learning, was supervised by Nassir Navab at the Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures (CAMP). It brought together regularisation and dictionary learning for biomedical imaging with learning from crowds, including the AggNet model and gamified annotation (“playsourcing”), and laid the ground for the lab’s later work on learning with limited and noisy labels.

The doctorate was supported by a DAAD PhD scholarship.
