Thrilled to share the success of our EEDA Autumn School on AI – a global collaboration between Albarqouni Lab (Germany), Universitätsklinikum Bonn, The University of Bonn, and the Faculty of Health Sciences at Beirut Arab University (Lebanon). Over the weekend, a distinguished Lebanese delegation from the Beirut Arab University ( BAU), American University of Beirut ( AUB), and Lebanese American University ( LAU) joined us for an immersive program blending cutting-edge AI with diverse disciplines.
Bridging Gaps, Fostering Excellence: This initiative, supported by the DAAD German Academic Exchange Service Ta’ziz Short Measures Grant, goes beyond an event – a testament to global collaboration. Empowering minds and breaking barriers, we achieved an 80% female participation rate and a competitive 26% acceptance rate, highlighting our commitment to academic excellence.
International Collaboration in Action: Thanks to DAAD, the funding from the Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany, and the endorsement of Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA), the EEDA Autumn School on AI has sparked meaningful collaborations, from curriculum integration to potential joint Master’s Programs. We are creating a ripple effect of international cooperation and academic brilliance.
Beyond Academia: Our journey surpassed the academic realm, fostering a profound cultural exchange. It’s not just about AI; it’s about building a global community that values diversity, mutual respect, and inclusive collaboration. The delegation enjoyed the social events from visiting the Christmas Market, Cathedral Kolner Döm, to the Haus der Geschichte.
Despite the challenging times, let’s continue breaking barriers, fostering innovation, and creating a better, more connected world. The success of this weekend is just the beginning – together, we can rise!
