At this year’s GLOHRA Steering Committee Meeting and GLOHRA Day, I helped put AI’s real-world value for global health firmly on the agenda. Co-leading the SC round-table with Prof. Charlotte Koehler, I steered debate away from hype toward actionable next steps. Later, at the Bundestag Parliamentary Evening, we participated in an interesting veent on Global Health in LMICs.
The next day, Jana Fehr and I ran an “Ask the Community” session to crowd-source how we should measure impactful AI. Participants mapped indicators for health outcomes, equity, and system sustainability, then agreed to co-develop a mixed-methods framework all projects can plug into—so evidence accumulates across diseases and settings. The experience clarified my role as a bridge between data science, health systems, and policy.
