I recently had the privilege of joining the Steering Committee of the German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA) in Brussels for a fact-finding mission from 17–20 November 2025. Alongside colleagues from diverse research disciplines, we engaged in constructive dialogue with key European institutions and partners to better understand the EU’s policy and funding landscape for global health research. Over three days of meetings, we gained valuable insights into emerging priorities for research funding and the upcoming EU Framework Programme (FP10), identifying new opportunities for collaboration and coordinated action from the research community. This visit not only strengthened our understanding of how global health research can be supported at the EU level but also reinforced our collective commitment to advancing impactful, interdisciplinary research that addresses global health challenges.
